The “Light of the Nation” -Anambra – has produced its Best State Spellers at the Nigeria Spelling Bee Anambra State Level contest.
The competition was conducted on 4th and 5th of March 2022 at St. Mark’s Standard Secondary School, Onitsha, which played host to the statewide contest.
At the conclusion of the day’s contest, Margaret-Mary Adaeze Uzozie of Holy Rosary Girls College Nsugbe emerged the Best Junior Speller while Ubaka Amarachi C. of Eagle Power College of Excellence Awka clinched the Best Senior Speller slot.
The 1st junior runner-up at the competition is Tolulope Kolawole of Regent College Anambra
These spellers will progress to represent the state at the National Finals of the Nigeria Spelling Bee slated for the 3rd-7th of August 2022 at Divine Rays British Schools Obosi-Onitsha, where they stand a chance to win up to N1,000,000 / N500,000 scholarships for Senior and Junior Categories respectively.
National Finalists also have an opportunity to represent Nigeria at the African Spelling Bee continental competition in Malawi.
