Oyo State Qualifier, 2018 Season

The Oyo State Qualifiers of the Nigeria Spelling Bee has just been concluded with top Spellers progressing to the Regional Stage of the competition.

The top Spellers emerged after just two rounds of the contest and they include:

  • Maryam Abdulrasheed Bello (634) of Medmina College, Ibadan
  • Liman Layla Mahmud (639) of Medmina College, Ibadan
  • Omoyeni Abisola Mary (2162) of Fountain Option Knowledge High School, Idi-Obi, Ibadan
  • Samson Glorious Nifemi (2164) of Fountain Option Knowledge High School Idi-Obi, Ibadan
  • Olasiyan Glory Christianah (2169) of Fountain Option Knowledge High School Idi-Obi Ibadan
  • Ovie Favour (2474) of Grace of God Kiddies College
  • Jimoh Eniola-Fathia (2498) of Jesus The Rock College Jegede
  • Odeyemi Ridwan Oluwamuyiwa (2597) of Jesus The Rock College Jegede
  • Olasupo Abigael Tomilola (2604) of Jesus The Rock College Jegede
  • Olaniyi Princess Anne (2632) of Wesley College of Science, Elekuro
  • Adebanji Mosunmola (2655) of Beulah Model College, Oladele
  • Fadiora Iyanuoluwa Mercy (2685) of Fountain Option Knowledge High School Idi-Obi
  • Olajuwon Opeyemi Folashayo (2691) of Methodist Grammer School Bodiya
  • Christianah Adrniyi (2693) of God’s Blessing Comprehensive College, Yemetu
  • Adeola Ibirogba (2695) of Goods Blessing Comprehensive College Yemetu
  • Anita Udofia (2698) of God’s Blessing Comprehensive College Yemetu
  • Anita Brown (2699) of God’s Blessing Comprehensive College Yemetu
  • Temitope Tomisin Taiwo (2707) of Imperial International School, Ibadan
  • Johnson Paul (2713) of Wesley College of Science, Elekuro, Ibadan

These Spellers will compete alongside other great Spellers from South-West states such as Lagos, Ondo, Ekiti, Oshun and Ogun States.

They will have a chance to prove this spelling prowess and make it to the National Finals where they can win up to One Million Naira Scholarship Grand Prize and also represent Nigeria at the African Spelling Bee which will take place in Mombasa Kenya this year.
