The “Treasure Base of the Nation” -Rivers- has produced its Best State Spellers at the Nigeria Spelling Bee Rivers State Level contest.
The competition was conducted on the 14th of May 2022 at Ladybird Educational Centre, Elelewon, which played host to the statewide contest.
At the conclusion of the day’s contest, Nwizor Emmanuella of Deeper Life High School Port Harcourt emerged as the Best Junior Speller while Uchechi Obinna of Eliud Int’l School clinched the Best Senior Speller slot.
The 1st Junior runner-up at the competition is Ola-Israel Jesutolola Micaiah of Jesuit Memorial College
The 1st Senior runner-up at the competition is Chukwukere Chiemerie Emmanuel of Shalon International High School
These spellers will progress to represent the state at the National Finals of the Nigeria Spelling Bee slated for the 3rd-7th of August 2022 at Divine Rays British Schools Obosi-Onitsha, where they stand a chance to win up to N1,000,000 / N500,000 scholarships for Senior and Junior categories respectively.
National Finalists also have an opportunity to represent Nigeria at the African Spelling Bee continental competition in Malawi.
